For a decade long, Briohney has woven her life into the mesmerising art form of Fusion Bellydance and was drawn to the potent blend of power, beauty, and artistic expression. This dance style captured her heart from the very start, becoming not just a hobby, but an obsession that has shaped her journey.
Originating from the rich tapestry of Middle Eastern, North African, Greek, Turkish, and Central Asian traditions, and infused with modern dynamism, Fusion Belly Dance is a melting pot of cultures.
As an adult embarking on her dance journey, Briohney faced challenges that ultimately transformed her life in profound ways. And beginning a dance form with no other previous background, it was hard at times finding her feet. Through dedication and perseverance she embraced the intricate interplay of mind and body connection, transcending movement to another level.
Through her dance expression, Briohney unearthed layers of her being, forging a devotional practice that permeated her life.
Briohney's dance narrative seamlessly fuses diverse forms, marrying belly dance traditions with contemporary and world styles. From Indian and Asian inspirations of traditional and folkloric styles
Her journey has transformed into taking this art form to stages around Australia in solo performances and with the Melbourne Dance group LilliM.
In 2022, Briohney has the honour of performing in Ubud, Bali, alongside Temple Step Project and Tahir Qawwal
